St. Kitts guide • Cruise and short stays

Things to do in St. Kitts in one day

A simple plan for one day on the island, built from the stops on our tours. It works from the cruise pier or your hotel.

A one-day plan

  1. Timothy Hill: a classic viewpoint over Frigate Bay, with the Atlantic on one side and the Caribbean on the other.
  2. Romney Manor and Caribelle Batik: a historic estate with lush gardens and one of the island's most famous old trees. Watch batik being made (typically $3 USD per person).
  3. Petroglyphs (Fertility Rock): ancient rock carvings from the island's early history.
  4. Brimstone Hill Fortress: the UNESCO-listed fortress, with sweeping views. Allow about an hour; entry is US$15.
  5. Black Rocks: dramatic volcanic rock formations on the Atlantic coast.
  6. A beach to finish: Frigate Bay is closest, South Friars is quieter, and Cockleshell Bay has Reggae Beach Bar and views of Nevis. See beaches near the cruise port.

Our Full Island Tour covers stops 1 to 5 in about 4 to 5 hours, so there is time for a beach after.

Only a few hours?

  • 2 to 2.5 hours: the Panoramic Tour covers Timothy Hill, the petroglyphs and Romney Manor.
  • An hour or two: walk to The Circus and Independence Square from the pier, or take a beach round trip.
